Our family-owned, California-based business represents the famous Armenian house of chocolates Gourmet Dourmé in the U.S. The brand of handmade chocolates was born on 7.7.2007 in the city of Ashtarak in Armenia and became very popular over the years. What is behind the name of the brand, you might wonder. The French word “gourmet” (meaning epicurean) may already be familiar to you, but, “dourmé” might not. “Dourm” is the Armenian word for chocolate. The combination of these two words says it all: delicious chocolates.
Shortly before its 14th anniversary in Armenia, the brand made its debut in the U.S. in June 2021. This was a milestone in the vision of the masterminds behind the brand, Pierre and Diran Bagdadian, two repatriated brothers from France and Austria. Their motto “Be Different” is evident in the novelty chocolates and gift ideas they create and offer in unique packaging to their ever-growing customer base. From day one, Pierre and Diran’s mission has been to not only be different, but also to make a difference in their homeland by creating more jobs at their facility to showcase the high quality of their chocolates made by skilled Armenian workforce.
